Wedding cake topper hair colors

A couple of years ago I went to a friend's wedding in Canterbury, New Zealand. She confided that she searched for months for a wedding cake topper in New Zealand, but couldn't find anything she liked anywhere. One particular problem she had was hair color - every single bride and groom cake topper she found was either brown & brown or blonde & blonde. She needed a blonde bride and a dark haired groom.

Incredibly, there were none to be found and she resorted to getting a permanent marker and darkening the groom's hair appropriately. Why is there such a chronic shortage of wedding cake topper styles in New Zealand? Perhaps if she had found this sweet couple from Amazon (and very cheap it is too - even in NZ dollars!), she would have been spared a couple of days shopping and half an hour with the permanent market!

Another increasingly popular option these days is to buy the bride and groom separately (choosing from a range of skin and hair colors) and creating a 'mix'n'match' cake topper.
